With the right stage equipment, you reach your audience
The right stage set-up and the right AV equipment are important when you need to reach your participants at courses, conferences or events.
If you are faced with having to convey a message, teach or perhaps make a musical performance at an event, it is important that you have the right AV & stage equipment at your disposal. At courses, meetings and conferences, it can be a good idea to use stage podiums in the room you are presenting in, so that your participants can see you better and vice versa. The stage podiums can be used to create a stage in exactly the size you need.
The next thing you need to ensure is that your participants can also hear you clearly. Perhaps there is already a loudspeaker system in the room, but if not, a mobile loudspeaker system with the right sound production is a good idea. Here, a professional AV technician will always be able to ensure that the sound is produced in the best possible way during your presentation. Loudspeaker systems can be used in different sizes and types, depending on whether you simply need to convey speech or, for example, must perform with a band or e.g. as a DJ. The size of the room is also important to take into consideration when choosing a loudspeaker system.
Last but not least, the right visual communication from the stage is also often a must.
Here, too, there are many options in terms of stage equipment – e.g. use of screens, projector, LED wall and stage backdrop that can be made with print or using a larger LED wall (which can also be used as your presentation surface). Below we will review some of the most common types of stage equipment that can be used when you are faced with having to present your message to your participants.
The stage itself where the stage equipment is to be used
Mobile stage modules are put together and thereby create the right stage for you. The modules we work with are available in heights from 20 cm. and up to 1 meter, which gives great flexibility. Typically one will also use stage carpet and skirt (fabric on the sides).
If there is not already a stage you can present from in the room, then setting up a mobile stage be a good idea. The stage modules can be assembled to exactly the size and height you need. It is therefore important for you to clarify whether there is already a stage you can use and, if not, which structure and size you would like. If you want to present from a medium-sized stage, there must of course also be room for this in the room. It is therefore a good idea to inspect the room or look at a dimensional drawing. Consider how you would like to use the stage and what stage equipment you want to use on it. Do you primarily want to be in the same place or do you want to be able to move around it more dynamically. Also consider which color carpet and skirt (fabric) you want on stage. Typically, you will use black molton as a skirt, but perhaps you have a desire for a different color, e.g. must fit a specific brand or similar.
The right stage equipment for sound
Your participants must be able to clearly hear your message, which is why it is important that you have the right AV equipment at your disposal when you present.
Loudspeaker system
If there is not already a laoudspeaker system in the room, you can rent a loudspeaker system . This will often consist of speakers placed on the stage or next to it on each side. If it is a question of larger rooms, you can also e.g. use linearray speakers that are suspended form a truss. Therefore, consider how many participants you need to reach and how big a loudspeaker system you need. Also consider what other types of sound stage equipment you need for the sound production.
The right microphone
You must of course also have access to a microphone when presenting. There are many options here, depending on how you want to present. If you wish that you and possibly other speakers must present from the same place on the stage, a classic lectern with a microphone, e.g. is selected. In addition, you can choose several different types of wireless microphones – both handheld, headset microphones or clip-on microphones. If singing is to be performed, there is also the right microphone for this.
Sound and AV production
It is important that the sound is always optimal when presenting. Therefore, it can be a really good idea to have an AV technician to produce the sound along the way. The AV technician will typically work from a technician's desk at the back or to the side of the room. AV technician will constantly ensure that all technology runs as it should. This can also help with the installation of wireless headsets for e.g. various speakers, as well as being responsible for the right image production during the event.
Stage equipment in the form of screens, projectors & LED walls
The right production of images is, like the right sound, very important when you are communicating from a stage. In this way, different screen types are often some of the most important stage equipment you need to use.
When a presenters present from a stage, they will often use some form of image and text presentation, often in the form of PowerPoint, Keynote or video presentations. These can be conveyed via different screen surfaces, depending on what you need and how you want to reach your participants.
LED screens
If you simply need to reach a smaller audience, you can perhaps use one or more traditional LED screens on stage. This setup can also be combined with several LED screens placed closer to the participants in different places in the room. However, this requires LED screens of a certain size. But if you have to hold a smaller presentation, an LED screen can be an option.
Comfort monitors
Also note that LED screens can be used as Comfort Monitors in front of the stage, pointing up towards the speaker so that he can follow along in his own PowerPoint presentation without having to turn around.
Projectors & screens
A widely used type of stage equipment for conveying larger image areas above a stage has for many years been bright projectors . These deliver large and clear images and if you want a very large image, several projectors can also be connected together for a large image. Here, however, it is important to remember that this requires special image production equipment. It is also important to take into account if there is a lot of daylight in the room you are presenting in. Here it can be important that there is an option to block out the light from windows with curtains and the like, as a lot of light will affect how clear the image is from the projector is displayed. Most often, you will project onto a projection screen, so if there is not already a projection screen in the room, this can be rented separately and set up on a stand or hung up behind the stage.
LED walls
Another type of stage equipment used for conveying large picture surfaces is led walls. They are made up of individual LED modules that together form a large picture. This is therefore a more complicated solution than using a projector, as it requires more time to set up. On the other hand, it delivers very bright images – also in rooms with naturally occurring daylight. LED walls can be built in many different sizes. When you use an LED wall on a stage, it can often act as a kind of digital backdrop, where both logos, presentations and visual effects can run, if there is e.g. is an all-day event where the stage is used in the evening in connection with a band or DJ.
